About FT

I know what you might be thinking:

Why would anyone want the filtered truth?
And who gets to decide what’s worth filtering?

Here’s the honest answer:

We live in a world of information overload and misaligned incentives. Data piles up faster than any of us can reasonably process, and the fight for attention has pushed many industries toward confusion, fear, and half-truths. In theory, we could all read the studies, trace the funding, and think everything through ourselves. In practice, life is busy - and sometimes clarity requires help.

When I say filtered, I don’t mean filtered through opinion, trends, or personal bias. I mean filtered through higher standards. Specifically, two of them:

  1. First Principles, and

  2. Holistic Systems

Everything you read here is examined through the fundamentals of biology and the larger system they belong to. That lens doesn’t always produce simple answers - there’s always nuances - but it does produce durable ones. First principles are timeless, and systems thinking keeps perspective in check.

Now, a word about me:

I’m Dr. Aldo Ronci, a dentist based in Austin, Texas. I’m the owner of Westlake Hills Dental and the founder of KareFor, a whole-food supplement brand focused on nutrient-dense organ extracts that support oral and systemic health from the inside out. My work sits at the intersection of clinical dentistry, nutrition, toxicology, and oral–systemic physiology - and is guided by scientific reasoning rather than convention.

A few human details, for context:

I have an identical twin brother (I’m older by 13 seconds, which I bring up whenever possible). I’m a first-generation American - my family is from Italy and Mexico. When I’m not reading studies or seeing patients at the practice, I’m usually outside, cooking something simple, or spending time with people I love. I recently became an uncle, which has been both grounding and perspective-shifting. And, while it’s not quite the same thing, you’ll also meet another important member of my life here from time to time: my dog, Bear.

It’s nice to meet you.

What to Expect

This newsletter is where I teach what dentistry was never trained to ask and what the oral-care industry has little incentive to explain.

Most people are taught that oral care is simple: brush, floss, mouthwash, repeat. But the truth is stranger - and more consequential.

Your mouth is one of the fastest gateways into your bloodstream, and the products you use every day influence your energy, sleep, hormones, immunity, and long-term health. The problem? Modern oral care largely ignores this reality, choosing instead to market to appearance and convenience rather than biology.

Filtered Truth exists to fix that.

Here, I make oral health simple, honest, and genuinely useful. I help you understand:

  • which ingredients are actually safe

  • which products are worth avoiding

  • how strong teeth are really built

  • how to protect children during crucial developmental years

  • and how the mouth connects to the rest of the body

No jargon. No fear-mongering. No endless curriculum. Just real science, carefully filtered, and translated into practical choices you can make.

If you’re looking for a healthier mouth - and a healthier life - you’re in the right place.
